This subject studies the structure and function of plants and plant tissue, cell physiology, energy transformations, metabolism, photosynthesis, plant nutrition, water and nutrient uptake and transport, whole plant physiology.

By the conclusion of this subject you should be able to demonstrate your understanding of the structure of plant cells and tissues, of the basic processes involved in the growth of plants and of the integration of these proceses in the physiology of plant growth.
